Learning Norwegian

Six Major Components of Learning Norwegian

My Experience

I have a pretty interesting experience with Norwegian in my opinion. Nov 5th of this year will mark year 3 of my relationship with Alfred, my Norwegian boyfriend. He was the foreign exchange student at my high school during my sophomore year. Once our relationship started to get more serious and he went back home, I started junior year and began to learn the language. Primarily because I plan to live in Norway one day, but also so I could communicate with Alfred's parents and little sister (who speak broken and no English, respectively). I must admit it's a horrible process and wildly useless here in America, but it would be a fun party trick if I went to parties. To learn, I use a combination of Alfred, podcasts, Duolingo, books, and daily conversation. I've been to Norway a few times, and I am going again this summer. (Pictured is Alfred's city, Halden)
